Steve began his career at 20 as an Automotive Mechanic, but after a life-changing motor vehicle accident, he transitioned to carpentry and eventually became a Professional Builder. Based on the west coast of BC, he gained valuable experience in the Structural Restoration industry during the 'Leaky Condo' period, when substandard systems led to severe water damage and structural failures in homes, apartments, and condos.
During this time, Steve quickly earned a reputation for his ability to absorb and apply knowledge in practical ways, working alongside Builders, Engineers, and Architects. His expertise grew, with a focus on exterior finishes and custom millwork, and he became a leader on various projects. In 2012, Steve ventured out on his own as a General Contractor, specializing in single-family, multi-family, and commercial work.
After relocating his family and business to the South Okanagan, Steve became acutely aware of the dangers posed by wildfires, which led him to partner with industry friends David Sinott and James Wagner to form FireGuard Systems, combining their expertise to protect properties and communities from wildfire damage.
Steve has a passion for serving his community and is committed to using his broad knowledge base to help build systems that offer protection and support to the people of the community he proudly calls home.
